Dark Chocolate Dreams and Pear Panini

The inspiration for this sandwich comes from my favorite flavor pairing of chocolate and fruit. In this recipe the rich chocolate peanut butter is combined with the naturally sweet pear to make a delicious toasted treat. When making this I purposely don’t go overboard with the peanut butter, only adding a thin layer to the rustic bread so that it doesn’t overwhelm the flavor of the fruit. It is a great sandwich for adults and children alike.

4. Heat a skillet or sandwich press over medium flame and melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Swirl the pan to make sure the butter evenly covers the entire surface. Place the sandwich on the pan and put a weight on top of the sandwich, or press down on it with a heatproof spatula. Once the bottom is toasted and golden brown carefully turn over the sandwich and toast the other side. Repeat with remaining three sandwiches. If you need to add the remaining 2 tablespoons butter between the second and third sandwich please do so. Serve hot.

I’ve done something similar with strawberries before, but I bet pears would also be good.

This looks so good!! I make pb and apple sandwiches all the time but this combo sounds even better! I’ve been having quite the love affair with pears the past few weeks!

The Dark Chocolate Dreams PB is so good that I’ve only been able to use it a sandwich spread once (I usually just eat it by hand or spread it on fresh fruit), but it looks like it’s time to give it another shot!

This is an interesting idea. I have never thought to add pears to a sandwich before but I imagine this would be quite tasty. Anything with Dark Chocolate Dreams would have to be delicious.

Mmm this looks amazing! Most paninis I’ve come across are crazy loaded with cheese and thus saturated fat. I really like how simple this recipe is! Who doesn’t love fruit and peanut butter!?

Yum, I like using banana and whole wheat bread. Sometimes I will use a fig spread in place of the nut butter, so good!

Yum I love pears. I have tried this with bananas but I need to try this with pears. I can only imagine how good warm chocolate peanut butter can be with sweet pears
